About the position:
This position is located at Pituffik Space Base in Greenland.

Position requires working irregular schedules, to include weekends, holidays, and all shifts.

This is a crafts and trades position. Must be able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to continuously stand and walk and frequently stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend for long periods of time.

Duties

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carries supplies and equipment, such as liquors, fruits, ice, glasses, linens and silverware from storage areas to the bar.
  • Slices and peels fruit.
  • Fills ice bins and crushes ice.
  • Washes and cleans bar glasses, bar equipment and keeps the work area clean and neat.
  • Replaces empty beer kegs with full kegs with the aid of a dolly; stocks beer coolers.
  • Wipes down the interior and exterior surfaces of coolers.
  • Helps in setting up service bars and portable bars.
  • Carries debris to waste containers.
  • May serve bottle beer, soft drinks and draw beer from kegs.
Performs Other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale, which includes knowledge or a wide variety of beverages and ability to combine ingredients such as liquors, soda water, sugar, bitters. and fruit and the ability to mix exotic drinks. Must be able to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed. be able to follow cash handling procedures.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.

Additional information

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
